Hey There!
Last week I was feeling ill. Well sure enough Monday morning I am running a temp of 102.5. and vomiting. Lucky me tho, that didn't happen until after the horrible hydration and PT they made us do for a urine test for drug usage from our weekend pass. I guess the only way to ensure that someone will piss on demand in the army is drinking a gallon of water in 30 minutes then doing crunches and jumping jacks for 1 hour. Not EVEN joking.
The drill Sargents normally love doing stuff like that but i could tell even they thought it was a little stupid. Anyways, after that, we went out to a field with no trees and started practicing marching for a drill ceremony competition. That's when i started getting dizzy and had to leave cause of my temp. I guess anything over 101 they take you right to the hospital.
So they sent me right away and saw how swollen my tonsils were, yep. you guess it. Strep throat. AGAIN!. God only knows how I catch this crap so easy. I wish I could just get my tonsils yanked out already. I mean I get this a few times a year every year, which is a few times to many ya know.
Also, whenever you have a temp over 100 or if you have something contagious you have to stay in the infermary for at LEAST 48 hours. This place is strange. It sucks that it's just full of sick people hacking up thier lungs continously. But I get to sleep, eat, and watch movies all i want while I'm here. I guess that makes up for it. They got a laundry room with a radio in it, so that's nice and turns out the building right next door is where they keep the people on Airborne hold. It's not far from where I am staying now so I at least know wherei will be for a week or two after I graduate.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention while I'm in the infermary I have to wear a mask the whole time, which i will not complain about. There are a couple guys here with mono, don't know how that works, but i sure as hell don't want it.
How about a subject that's a little more upbeat.
I heard my platoon won the drill ceremony compitition yesterday. So as a reward we get a 6 hour pass on Sandhill this Sunday. Hooah!!
